Mitsubishi Electric Corporation Selects Cinemo Unified Media Player™ for Next Generation IVI Systems

New agreement will see Cinemo and Mitsubishi Electric collaborate on future IVI systems and open up the connected car to advanced media distribution

Karlsruhe, Germany, December 3rd, 2013 – Cinemo, a global leader in high performance and automotive grade multimedia playback, streaming, media management and connectivity middleware, have today announced that Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, a recognized World leader in the manufacture, marketing and sales of electrical and electronic equipment, will be integrating Cinemo’s award winning multimedia playback middleware into selected In-Vehicle Infotainment systems.

The first project stemming from this collaboration will include both a head unit and rear seat configuration for a worldwide car OEM. Cutting-edge multimedia playback and streaming will also be augmented by Cinemo’s Distributed Playback™ which plays any audio/video content simultaneously with perfect lip synchronization and echo free on multiple devices over the car network. So direct connectivity between the front and rear seat units along with RSE features can be effortlessly realized.

Cinemo was recently the recipient of two CES Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering Awards for its technology and is becoming the multimedia solution of choice for automotive Tier-1 providers and car manufacturers.
