Cinemo to Unveil H.265, 4K UHD, Ethernet/AVB, DTS® M8, Blu-ray and AVCHD for Automotive at CES 2013
Cinemo’s next generation’s technology advancements all set to transform multimedia in the connected car
Las Vegas, January 7th, 2013 — Cinemo, developers of high performance embedded multimedia technologies for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), will be presenting live demonstrations of its latest technological innovations for automotive at this year’s CES Show in Las Vegas (Suite #2929, LVH Hotel).
Featured heavily will be two world exclusives: the first DTS® M8 Technology implementation and the first H.265 Next Generation High Definition Video Format support in an automotive environment. Cinemo will also be showing in an infotainment setting, 4K UHD Ultra High Definition cinema quality video, which has twice the horizontal and vertical resolution of the 1080p HDTV format, with four times as many pixels overall.
As part of a wider technology connected car demonstration, Cinemo’s Distributed Playback™ and Distributed Media Management™, can share, access, and play any audio/video content simultaneously with perfect lip synchronization and echo free on multiple devices over the car network (RSE Features with easy extension to tablets and smartphones). Intelligent and ultra-fast content indexing of large media libraries on connected devices such as USB sticks, HDD/SSD, SD cards are part of Cinemo’s Media Management™ and will be previewed at the Cinemo suite.
Cinemo will also be introducing Ethernet/AVB – real-time High Definition video streaming from a rear view camera using the IEEE 1722 AVB L2 Transport Protocol. As a new operating system implementation preview, an early prototype of Cinemo’s Media Engine™ running on the INTEGRITY real-time operating system will be demonstrated.
Almost instantaneous High Definition video playback upon vehicle power-on is another new development of Cinemo’s technology solutions, and this along with automotive grade Blu-ray and AVCHD technology, will be shown in a live situation.
Jim Corbett, Co-founder and Executive VP of Cinemo GmbH says “We have an exciting array of IVI embedded multimedia solutions at CES and we welcome any of our current or future automotive partners to visit us during the show at Suite #2929, LVH Hotel”.
