Cinemo to power Hirschmann Car Communication’s new eHub

Cinemo extends its co-operation with Hirschmann Car Communication to bring its high performance multimedia architecture to the eHub entertainment device

Karlsruhe, Germany, October 1st, 2014 – Cinemo, a global leader in high performance automotive grade multimedia playback, streaming, media management and connectivity middleware, and Hirschmann Car Communication GmbH, one of the world’s foremost providers of infotainment systems and transmitter and receiver technology for vehicles, have announced their development co-operation with Hirschmann’s ground-breaking next generation personal in-car entertainment device, the eHub.

With Hirschmann’s eHub and Cinemo’s advanced multimedia framework, passengers can experience individual entertainment at the highest picture and sound level. Delivering an impressive array of multi-user capabilities as well as wireless entertainment options, Hirschmann’s eHub enables playback and streaming of videos and music along with mobile reception of Digital TV. The eHub can also act as a WLAN hotspot for CE devices, and contains both USB and SD card slots for connecting end-user mass storage.

In addition, a dedicated consumer application for iOS and Android devices powered by Cinemo’s middleware, will offer full control of the eHub features including local and remote media library sharing and browsing and perfect lip synchronized audio/video playback turning iOS and Android based devices into Rear Seat Entertainment units.
