Cinemo Named Twice as CES Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering Award Honoree

Cinemo’s Distributed Playback™ Technology recognized for its innovation with two Honoree Awards

Karlsruhe, Germany, November 12th, 2013 – Cinemo, a global leader in high performance and automotive grade multimedia playback, streaming, media management and connectivity middleware today announced that it has been named an International CES Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for its Distributed Playback™ Technology. Achieving two awards, in “Embedded Technologies” and “In-Vehicle A/V Product” categories, Cinemo demonstrated unparalleled quality and performance in the way it handles fully lip-synchronized distribution of multimedia content on multiple platforms and devices. Cinemo Distributed Playback™ closes the gap between Automotive head-unit and rear-seat IVI units as well as mobile and handheld CE devices by providing lip-synchronous audio and video playback on the devices connected to the in-vehicle network. Its future-proof architecture enables software-only based Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) on automotive Head Units, with an easy extension of the RSE experience through apps on Android, iOS, and Windows-based mobile and handheld devices.

The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. Products chosen as an Innovations honoree reflect innovative design and engineering of the entries. Examples may include the first time various technologies are combined in a single product or dramatic enhancements to previous product designs.

Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 29 product categories.

“To receive not one, but two CES Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering Honoree awards is an immense privilege for Cinemo and we are delighted to have our Cinemo Distributed Playback™ technology recognized in such a way” said Jim Corbett, Co-Founder of Cinemo. “We have strived hard to deliver the foremost multimedia technology for IVI and we look forward to previewing even more innovation at CES2014 and in the future”.

Cinemo will be exhibiting at the 2014 International CES, which runs January 7-10, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
